Converting temperature
Fahrenheit to Celsius: subtract 32, then multiply by 5/9. Celsius to Fahrenheit: multiply by 9/5, then add 32. A quick estimate for weather: double the Celsius figure and add 30.
US vs UK measures
US and UK pints and gallons are different sizes — a UK pint is about 20% larger. Cooking measures (cups, tablespoons) here use US sizes, which most online recipes use.
